A UDI consists of a Device Identifier (DI) and a Production Identifier (PI). The PI is dynamic information, including the medical device's serial number, batch number, production date, and expiration date. It is dynamic additional information for the medical device and must be used in conjunction with the DI to identify a specific medical device.
