The Underpads uses a multi-layered composite structure, with each layer having a clear function and working synergistically:
Top Layer (Surface Layer): Made of high-quality non-woven fabric, usually polypropylene (PP) or polyester (PET), with a diamond-patterned surface to enhance skin-friendliness and liquid absorption. Some high-end products may include antibacterial agents or softening agents.
Absorbent Layer (Core Functional Layer): Composed of superabsorbent polymer (SAP) and fluff pulp (wood pulp). SAP can absorb tens to hundreds of times its own weight in liquid and lock it in, preventing backflow; the fluff pulp provides rapid diffusion and a supporting framework.
Intermediate Barrier Layer (Leak-Proof Layer): Typically a PE plastic film (polyethylene waterproof backing film) or laminated non-woven fabric, providing complete waterproof performance to prevent liquid penetration and staining of sheets or clothing.
Bottom layer (back layer/fixation auxiliary layer): Physical fixation devices such as elastic bands, stretch bands, snaps or medical adhesive tape are added to fit the bed frame or wheelchair and prevent displacement.
