1. Preconditioning:
This involves heating and humidifying the Gauze products(like gauze swab, lap sponges) to optimize sterilization effectiveness. Preconditioning is sometimes performed in a dedicated preconditioning chamber to ensure the items reach the ideal temperature and humidity.
2. Sterilization:
The preconditioned items are transferred to an EO sterilizer, where ethylene oxide gas is introduced for sterilization. During the sterilization process, parameters such as EO concentration, temperature, humidity, and time must be controlled to ensure effective sterilization.
3. Aeration:
After sterilization, ethylene oxide residues must be removed from the items. This can be done by aerating the items within the sterilizer or by transferring them to a dedicated aeration chamber. During the aeration process, parameters such as temperature, time, and air flow must be controlled to ensure that residues are reduced to a safe level.
