Haorunmed Guedel Airway is a medical device used to keep the upper respiratory tract unobstructed and is usually used in patients undergoing anesthesia, emergency treatment or loss of consciousness. It is designed to be placed inside the mouth, extending from the lips to the throat to prevent the back of the tongue from falling and blocking the airway.
Haorunmed supply Guedel Airway ventilation duct was proposed and promoted by British anesthesiologist Arthur Guedel, and thus got its name. Its typical feature is that it bends in a "J" shape and has a biting block part, which can prevent the patient from biting the catheter and causing airflow obstruction. Guedel Airway does not provide complete protection for the airway (such as preventing aspiration), and therefore cannot replace tracheal intubation. However, it is very effective as a temporary measure, especially in the absence of advanced airway management conditions.
It comes in a variety of sizes and is suitable for infants, children and adults. Choosing the right size is crucial - usually determined by the distance from the patient's incisors to the earlobe or mandibular Angle.
Common usage scenarios include:
Recovery period from general anesthesia
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR
Those who have not regained consciousness after an epileptic seizure
Any situation where a disorder of consciousness may cause airway obstruction
